Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Nose reshaping surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, can be used for cosmetic reasons and/or to improve breathing. Patients who choose to undergo rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons usually desire to achieve more balanced, aesthetically pleasing facial profile. Rhinoplasty is a 1-3 hour-long procedure, during which a surgeon makes an incision near the base of the nose and reshapes the underlying bone and cartilage. Some rhinoplasty patients choose to obtain a full facial makeover by also receiving a face lift. When combined, these two procedures can help a patient achieve a more contoured, youthful face. This type of plastic surgery whereby multiple procedures are performed in conjunction with each other is referred to as combination plastic surgery. When considering combination plastic surgery consisting of rhinoplasty and a facelift, consult a board-certified plastic surgeon in order to assess the benefits, costs and risks of each of the two procedures.
